With education transiting towards four-dimensional ways which are knowledge, skill, character and mental learning, the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof. [Mrs] Chinedum Peace Babalola has stated that the students of Chrisland University must be ready to key into this new educational trend.
Prof. Peace made this statement while fielding questions from CEOAfrica reporter at the Orientation lecture of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun state. The Vice Chancellor who stated that the school is making frantic effort in ensuring that the students of Chrisland University become twenty-first century learners, explained further that orientation course is a period designed to create awareness and provide information the students need to know.

Prof. Peace also noted that exposing the students to different aspect of the university including the guidelines of the school as well as organizing lectures that will help them know the tenets of the University are also major reasons that necessitated orientation course in schools.

In her words, “We want to ensure that each student graduate with a bachelor degree and a certification in a particular skill. Also, every student should be able to graduate by playing at least one or two musical instruments. This orientation week is filled with activities, counselling, academic and moral talks on drug abuse, security, how to read effectively and how to make a first class will be treated on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. While there will be break on Thursday and sports will be observed on Friday, Saturday’s event will be a tour around Abeokuta and an excursion to Olumo Rock. Likewise, some set of students will attend a program tagged “Drug Policy” at the Obasanjo Library as the institution has been invited to be one of the universities that will attend the programme.';;';;
Prof. Peace therefore called on the students to see the outlined programmes as what will help them come out prepared as light, radiating knowledge, intelligence, innovation and character. The Vice Chancellor who enjoined the students to be problem solvers in the society also charged the staff of the university not to remain stagnant in the acquisition of knowledge but to keep learning so as to become excellent tutors that will make impact.

Interestingly, we are both females, who recently got appointed into one position or the other. The Director of NAFDAC, Prof. Moji Adeyeye who I call my aunty. Am really excited about it, it’s so funny that she was appointed DG of NAFDAC November and I also took over as the VC of Chrisland University that same November, I give all glory to God because whatever I get, I see it as a gift from God.”
