BAYELSA STATE GOVERNMENT BEGINS PAYMENT OF MONTHLY ALLOWANCE TO THE AGED

CEOAFRICA.com reports all the way from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State Capital in Nigeria that the state government has officially commence payment of monthly stipend to the aged in the state.

Speaking at the ceremony where registered senior citizens were paid a sum of N5,000 naira as take-home allowance for the month of July, the Executive Governor  of Bayelsa State Hon. Seriake Dickson re-emphasized efforts of his administration in making life worthwhile for the dwellers of the state.

While instructing those elders who are yet to register for the scheme that they should do so at their Local Government Headquarters, the governor said the gesture would be a monthly affair.

Those entitled to this monthly allowance would have clocked 65 years and above, while elders on pension payroll are excluded from the scheme
