Durant is currently dealing with soreness in his right ribs. The Warriors have a back-to-back this weekend as they face the Kings on Friday and the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. Durant was originally listed as questionable heading into Friday.
This is a big blow to the team because Durant was the focal point of the offense against the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this week. Durant scored a team-high 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting in a 117-106 victory in which the Warriors were tested.
One of the few positives for the Warriors is the fact that forwards Draymond Green and David West will be back in the lineup. Green had missed Wednesday';s game and West had been out of action for the past five contests. It';s possible that
Omri Casspi or Andre Iguodala will draw the start in Durant';s absence and both figure to play significant minutes against the Kings.
