In view of the trending issue about Buhari’s bid for second term, the Oyo state Labour party chairman Mr. Gbenga Olayemi has reacted to President Buhari’s message.

Speaking with CEOAfrica in an interview, Olayemi said “It is a usual thing for an average Nigeria politician to seek re-election into office and I expected President Muhammadu Buhari to follow suite, because it is a norm in Nigerian politics to aspire for second term in office. Although the decision lies with All Progressive Congress (APC), but if the party will be nominating him as their presidential candidate for 2019, I am sure President Buhari cannot win because he has performed below expectation”

Responding to a question about Labour Party’s plans for the 2019 gubernatorial election, he disclosed that the party is ready to dethrone the ruling party in Oyo State come 2019, by joining alliance with like-minded parties whose names are being withheld for now.

“Although the party is yet to conclude on who is going to run for 2019 Governorship Election but we are set to take charge and we intend practicing democracy like the days of Dr.Nnamdi Azikwe, Tafawa Balewa, Obafemi Awolowo and the likes by providing free education, social amenities, security in all its forms and to cater for the Oyo State teachers”.
