News coming from Malawi has re-echoed the fact that African countries are living up to the task of waging war against corruption of every kind. Part of what militate against Africa development is corruption, but if things could be done in the right manner, then Africa would soon attain its pride of place amongst other Continents in terms of giving zero tolerance for corruption.

According to CEOAFRICA.com findings, the Nsanje Police Division in Malawi should be commended for good job well done, as they arrested three people for allegedly registering twice in the current voter’s registration exercise in the country.

Sources disclosed that the arrest was confirmed by the Nsanje Police Officer-In-Charge, Assistance Commissioner Sekani Tembo that Faison Thuchira, 29, Nowa Sandram, 29, and Jane Fred 25 were arrested after a tip-off that they registered twice in two different registration centres.

“It is true that we have arrested three people including a primary school teacher who are in our custody for registering twice against elections laws that allow one to register only once” she said.

She analysed that Thuchira and Fred first registered on July 24 at Mbwazi ADMARC registration centre and later on July 25 and July 27 respectively at Namiyala Primary School registration centre both in Nsanje North Constituency.

Sandram, she said, first registered on July 22 at Mbwaze ADMARC and then on July 26 at Namiyala School registration centre. The suspects, according to her, would appear in court soon.
