2019: Customs boss, Ahmed Ali, leads Buhari Support Organisation to Aso Rock

The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Ahmed Ali, has led members of the Buhari Support Organisation to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, to see President Muhammadu Buhari.

CEOAFRICA gathered that while receiving them on Tuesday (today), President Buhari expressed concerns about what had happened to the $16bn allegedly spent on power projects in the past in the country, considering the current poor state of the sector.

Buhari, who did not mention Obasanjo’s name, asked, “where was the power after a former president claimed to have spent $16 billion on the project?”

Recall that the House of Representatives had, in 2008, described the $16 billion spent on power by Obasanjo’s government as a colossal waste, blaming it on “poor budget planning and a lack of proper oversight by relevant bodies”.
