THE BOY-CHILD IN SCHOOL
The National President of the Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria, Chief Felicia Onyeabo, has lamented on the recent back drop of the boy-child in education.
This situation was communicated at the conference that announces the inauguration of Cor Mariae College, Abuja, which is to hold on Friday (today).
Chief Felicia Onyeabo stated that with the population of the boy hawkers on the street, there is every tendency that the future of this country is going to be miserable, adding that the boy-child is greatly left out of education judging by the multitude of them hawking out there.
She further purported that some of them have even turned armed robbers on account of the neglect paid to their right to education, urging parents to also concentrate on giving proper education to boys.
She also pointed out that unemployment also have a very traumatising role in the rate of boy-child drop out of school, as the apparent sight of unemployed educated youths discouraged some young boys from appreciating the need to be educated.
Chief Onyeabo concluded that if the equation is not balanced, it’s bound to escalate to a point where quality husbands will be extremely scarce for highly educated women, adding that the result is better imagined than experienced, for the effect will not do any good to the better management of the Economy.
