JOHN UTAKA SIGNS FREE TRANSFER TO SIVASSPOR

The Nigeria forward, John Utaka has signed a free transfer to Sivasspor having departed from French side Montpellier.

CEOAFRICA gathered that the 31-year-old player who started his career in the south-East Nigeria, Enugu city, joined the Turkish side on a two-year deal after undergoing a successful medical treatment in Sivas.

John Utaka was said to have turned down offers from the Middle East and Asia after he became a free agent in the summer, and sees his move to Sivasspor as a fresh start, after ending a mixed two-and-a-half years at Montpellier and as well expressed his desire to succeed in the club.

He recounted to have played in Africa, England and France, stating that he is motivated because Sivasspor is a different league with numerous passionate fans.
