Latest news reaching the news desk of CEOAFRICA.com states that the Presidential election in Mali will go to a second round on August 11.

Former Prime Minister Ibrahim Boubacar Keita was in the lead with 39.2 percent and was followed by Soumaila Cisse who won 19.4 percent and Dramane Dembele came third with 9.6 percent.

Acting president, Dioncounda Traore and United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon have acknowledged that the vote may have been imperfect, but urged that Malians should respect the outcome of the election.

The run-off would be between Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and Soumaila Cisse. Twenty five people contested in the election, with none getting the required 50% of total votes needed to avoid run-off.
