The incumbent Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe was declared winner of the just concluded Presidential election with a total of 61% of votes cast, while his opponent Morgan Tsvangirai was able to get 34% of total votes.

The result, CEOAFRICA.com garthered, sparked wild jubilation amongst the Zanu-PF supporters across the country, with many of them trooping to the street in celebrating the victory of the 89 year old president.

Meanwhile, the opposition party MDC has rejected the result describing it as fraudulent. They also alleged that followers of Zanu-PF attacked about eleven of their supporters in Harare and around 20 from Mashonaland province. They claimed that the Zanu-PF party supporters went door-to-door ordering them to pack their bags and leave.

Also, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, has vowed to take legal action to contest the results, and that his Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) would no longer work with Mr Mugabe's Zanu-PF party and would boycott government institutions.

The party, however appealed to the Southern African grouping, SADC, to intervene to prevent the situation getting out of control, he adds.
