Former Golden Eaglets first choice goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu is scheduled to travel to Belgium today to finalise a deal with elite division side, Genk FC, Complete Sports can report.

The Flying Eagles invitee who helped Nigeria’s U-17 Golden Eaglets to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Dubai last year has been in constant touch with the Belgian club after his scintillating performance at the junior cadre tournament.

According to the reliable goalkeeper’s agent, Shola Orelaja, the goalkeeper has been granted permission by the Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba as the invited players are scheduled to report at the Abuja camp today.

He said Alampasu who was part of the team that represented Nigeria at the CAF African Nations Championship in South Africa will travel aboard Iberia Airline tonight to Belgium.

Complete Sports can also report that the purpose of the journey is for the players to discuss the financial terms of the proposed deal and if there is agreement between the coach and the Nigerian player, he may have to stay back to continue is professional career immediately in Belgium.

“Alampasu is expected to travel to Belgium on Friday to discuss financial terms with Genk, they saw him play and they have both discussed, so we are just hoping that this trip will fetch him his professional career dream,” says the agent.

It was also gathered that the Nigerian talented goalkeeper will be available for the Flying Eagles assignment despite his plan to move to Belgium in pursuant of professional career.
