A teenage, Miracle Ogbonna, on Friday appeared at a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged assault, theft of cash and dispossessing a man of his phone.
Ogbonna, 19, is facing trial on a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and assault.
He however entered a “not guilty plea”.
Sgt. Anthonia Osayande had told the court that the accused committed the offences on July 17 at Otumara School compound, Ilaje near Costain in Ebute Meta area of Lagos State.
She said that the accused had assaulted the complainant, Kenechi Harrison, by stabbing him with an object on his back, thereafter, dispossessed Harrison of his Nokia phone valued at N12, 000 and N15, 000 cash.
She said that the offences contravened Sections 170, 287 and 413 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The chief magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, admitted the accused to a bail of N50, 000 with two responsible sureties each in like sum.
She then adjourned the case until Sept. 3 for mention.
