The Katsina State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Hajiya Ramatu Sanda on Thursday said, she has put in place a camp court with the features of conventional court to trial erring Corp members.

The State Coordinator disclosed this during the swearing in ceremony of the 2018 batch B Corp members numbering about 2,300 deployed to the state.

Hajiya Sanda said the camp court is expected to trial any Corp members and carry out appropriate sanctions where necessary.

Similarly, the state coordinator said there will be reward for hard work for both Corp members and the officials.

According to her, “I wish to inform the camp community that management employs the policy of reward for hard work as well as punishment for wrong doing, for more effective and efficient administration of the camp.

“To this end, we are poised to reward the best senior and junior staff. Similarly, we shall award prizes for the neatest female and male hostel in camp".

“On the other hand, we have a standby camp court with all the features of a conventional court. The court is expected to try all erring Corp members and met out appropriate sanctions to a convicted corps member or acquits and discharges one who is not guilty in line with the NYSC Act cap 84 of 2004,” Hajiya Sanda stated.

The katsina state Governor, Aminu Masari, while declaring the camp open, called on the Corp members to display their significant role towards the national growth and development of the country.

Masari, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Youth Development, Ibrahim Khalil Aminu, assures the corp members the readiness of the state as a government  to support the scheme for the collective effort of developing the state and nation at large.

“It is only natural that you on your part, should not only strive to tackle your responsibilities headlong but equally show how critical your role as Corp members are in the development of education, agriculture, health and infrastructure among others".
