President of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN) and head of history department, University Of Ibadan Professor Christopher Ogbogbo has paid a special tribute to Professor Olawale Albert.

He gave glowing tributes to Professor Albert at his inaugural lecture at the University of Ibadan on Thursday noting that Professor Albert has emerged Nigerian’s foremost Peace and Conflict Studies scholar.

Prof. Albert had supervised Prof Ogbogbo’s PhD thesis work.

Professor Albert was the pioneer Director of the Institute of Africa Studies, University of Ibadan. He has also served as resource person to the West African Peace building Institute (WAPI); Institution for peace and Conflict Resolution, The Presidency, Abuja; the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), among others.

He has also written several books some of which include: The Security Sector and Conflict Management in Nigeria; Research Methods In Peace and Conflict; Managing Security In A Globalised World, and so on.
