The Hausa's and Yoruba meets for peace keeping at the Oyo State Police command Eleyele headquarters titled ''Influence of foreigners in the state'' today 23rd April, 2014.
According to Serikin Housana of ibadan, Alhaji Muhammed Zungeru, The Oyo state police command is doing a great job in terms of security in the state, he therefore appreciated them for their intensive effort. ''Oyo state is our second home'' Serikin Hausana said. He admonished the Hausa's to live in peace and unity with the Yoruba's.
''Fulani's are full of destruction, they are not the Fulani we used to know, they now go to beer parlour'' Alhaji Haruna said this is not so in the past, and this is the more reason why they misbehave in the community. Alhaji Haruna advised the Police to arrest any Fulani found in beer parlour and also charge to court.
furthermore, he said children below teenage should not be allowed to rare cow, because they wont be able to control the cows and by so doing destroy farms. He stated that most times, Fulani are not the one actually committing most crimes because some people disguise to be Fulani and rob people of their possessions on highways. but Fulani are been accused because of their recklessness.
''We spend our money to make sure their is peace in the country, we move from one place to the other, from one bush to the other to help with the security of the country'' Alhaji Oseni Mohammed said on behalf MIYATI Allah chairman, Alhaji Yakubu.
Alhaji Yakubu appreciates the Oyo state Police command for their cooperation.
''We are not fighting, but means of survival caused dispute among us'' Bashorun ofiseyin Chief Oyewole Adelodun said. he further stated that farmers take loans from bank to enhance their farming, but when it is time to harvest their crops, it is unfortunate that some Fulani will take their cows there to destroy people's farm by eating their crops. he advised something should be done because there are still some adamant ones who refuse to adhere to the instruction.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Clement Adodo on behalf of the Oyo state commissioner of Police CP Muhammed Indabawa welcomed all to the peace keeping. ''We promise the Police will see to making sure there is peace between the yoruba's and hausa's'', he said. we are all indigenes of Ibadan, we must not allow discrimination among us, and by so doing will contribute to the development of the state.
''Boko Haram is a snake, they have no family, relatives or religion, they should be regarded as our worst enemies and should be pushed out anywhere they are'' Be vigilant and also report new faces in your community to the police'' DC advised. The DC assures them all that the governor will be informed about their discussions and decision, after which the Police will get back to them. Peace will continue to reign among us, and also promise that all necessary steps will be taken.
The DC wished all present safe trip back to their destination on behalf of the Oyo state commissioner of Police.
