Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, will deliver 2014 annual reunion lecture of Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) on Saturday May 10. UNIFEMGA's National President, Professor Wahab Egbewole and National Public Relations (PRO), Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun said the lecture would hold on at the prestigious Oduduwa Hall, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun state. The lecture was part of the three-day National Re-Union event of the Association from Friday May 9 to Sunday May 11.
The Speaker will talk on the topic "Islam and Good Governance: Nigerian Legislative Agenda’’ while Prof. Tale Omole, OAU Vice chancellor will be the Chief Host.
This year’s lecture is UNIFEMGA contribution to the on-going national discourse on good governance as exemplified by Islam using the instrumentality of the Legislature.
Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Secretary-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) will chair the occasion while Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Governor of the state of Osun, is the Special Guest of Honour.
The statement added that Professor AbdulMajeed Alabi, a former Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly and a Political Scientist at the University of Ilorin, will be the Guest Discussant.
Other highlights of the re-union include the award of N2.8 million scholarships to 50 OAU students, making a total of N13.7 million scholarships so far disbursed to 254 students.
