Azeez Raman, a twenty-year old man of Dalemo street in Apata area of Ibadan was reported to have defiled a two-year old girl on May 4th, 2014. Raman, who was said to be the landlord's son, invited the little girl into his room  where he defiled her.   According to the victim’s parent (name withheld), "she went outside upon her request to pee, only to realise that she  (the victim) was bleeding. She told me that Raman the landlord’s son was responsible"   When Ramon was confronted over this he claimed "it was not intentional, I never meant to do it; it is the devil" Raman pleaded guilty and begged to be pardoned, promising that such will never happen again.   According to Apata Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ibrahim Akinniyi the victim had been taken to the hospital for medical attention because it was confirmed there was penetration but no sign of semen. In the aftermath of it, she kept on developing temperature. The accused was not taken to the hospital as there was no sign of discharge, the Divisional Police said.   According to the Police Public Relation Officer, SP Olabisi Okwuobi Ilobanafor, the parent has been advised to take good care of the little girl, the case have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department (SCID) for optimal investigation. The PPRO advised members of the public especially parents to take charge of their children because the rapists out there do not have respect for age or the body development. She also urged parents to know that female child is easily exposed to rape and therefore should  not leave them carelessly with untrusted friends, neighbours or relatives or people suffering from psychological problem. “Police will not be in different houses to see if such is going on. Take care of the children, guide them jealously” She adviced.
