Seven persons, including a child, were killed in a road accident on the Lokoja-Abuja highway on Wednesday.
Other victims, including four women and three men, were said to be on their way to Okene from Kano.
The accident, which happened at about 6am at Ohono village, near Koton Karfe, involved a white Toyota passenger bus and a truck with number plate Lagos EKY 244 XG.
The Kogi FRSC Sector Commander, Mr Godwin Omiko, told newsmen that the truck was on speed when the Toyota passenger bus with number plate Kogi XB 641 LKJ from Abuja rammed into it, killing the eight persons on the spot.
He said the dead victims included the driver and seven other occupants of the bus, and blamed the accident on human error.
Omiko said a passenger was fatally wounded in the accident, adding that the corpses and the injured were taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
He said investigation into the accident was underway.(Punch)
