It was the end of the road for some group of armed bandit were today
paraded at the police headquarters at Eleyele, Oyo state the
commissioner of police indabawa mohammed while briefing pressmen
disclosed that the armed robbers specialised in attacking bank
customers. The commissioner said ‘’ that on the 15th of may 2014, at
about 2.30pm there was a distress call that the  robbers attacked one
mr Olu kolawole surnmanes withheld was disposed of the sum of two
hundred and seventy thousand naira which he recently withdrew from the
bank. The robbers did not end their operation with mr olu, they
started robbing each filling stations along the road and later snatch
a motor cycle to escape. The police patrol team from alakiya got the
information and trailed the robbers. The operation was led by
inspector jimoh. The patrol team was overpowered the armed robbers as
they tried to escape through alakiya and arrested two of the robbers
while other escaped. The name of the arrested suspects are Benjamin
john 25years and Uchenna John 36 years on whom one locally made
pistol, 5 live catridges and one bajaj motorcycles . the robbers
confessed guilty to the crime. Effort was put in place to get others.
 Another group of robbers who specialised in stealing cars met their
waterloo on the Lagos Ibadan expressway on the 7th of may 2014. The
robbers were intercepted at about 2.00am by a federal high way patrol
team led by inspector Emmanuel; the robbers were on a Camry car with
registration no DL 550 BEN.  As the patrol team was trying to
interrogate the four occupants in the car, three of the occupants
jumped out and head straight to the bush leaving only the driver one
Mr. Semiu Sikiru age 29 years, he was arrested and later in the day
another member of the gang Daniel okorie age 27 years was arrested at
orita challenge while looking for a vehicle to escape. The arrested
suspect confessed that they robbed a woman in lagos and disposed her
of her car. Efforts are on high gear to get the owner of the vehicle.
Some armed robbers were also arrested at the Ogbomosho illorin express
way. On the 18th of May, we had a distress call that some robber were
on the road to rob motorist on the high way. Some police forces were
quickly mobilized to the scene and they laid ambush for the robbers,
the robber specialized in placing sharp objects on the road to trap
unsuspecting armed robbers. The robbers went for their normal business
of the day and laid sharp objects on the road and an unknown trailer
driver unknown of the robbers bait was trapped and the hoodlums came
out of the bush and started firing sporadically and the police man
came out from the ambush for the criminals. One of them uche was
injured by the police bullets and was taken to the hospitals and some
of the members escaped with bullet wouds but the arrested suspect is
helping in our investigation as he has made useful information that
will lead to the arrest of the others. Live arms were recovered from
the robbers
Interstate Motocycles robbers nabbed and motorcycles recovered. One
abdullahi Babangida reported that his motor cycle reported that four
men with knife snatched his bajaj motorcycle with registration no MNY
055 QB FROM THE HIDE OUT. On the receipt of the information, the
police officers  swung into action and were able to trace the robbers
to the back of bright oil filling station in akinyele where the motor
cycle was sighted and was about to be loaded for a north bound
transport  vehicle. One mr ali and mr garba were arrested and another
bajaj was also recovered from the vehicle. On interrogation the
suspect confessed to have been in the illicit business and have
disposed many of their motorcycle and sold same in northern Nigeria.
Other residents of sabo were also arrested for the stealing motor
vehicles
