The African Academy of Languages, ACALAN is set to hold a workshop on the harmonization of the Kiswahili, Kinyarwanda/Kirundi, Luganda, Malagasy and Somali cross border languages.

The workshop which is expected to run from 13th to 15th of November in Kampala will be streamed live on www.acalan.tv.

The workshop is part of ongoing efforts by ACALAN to harmonize the writing systems of African languages, develop harmonized rules of grammar and creation of terminology and lexicography.

The harmonization process will be done through presentations and discussions to review and supplement the existing orthographic rules.
