Senate President Bukola Saraki has called on the presidency to institute a judicial inquiry into how and when the principal suspect in the Offa robbery incident died.
Saraki’s demand followed police disclosure that Michael Adikwu, the principal suspect in the bank robbery attacks in Offa, Kwara State, on April 5, was dead.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, the Senate President said the police disclosure has vindicated his earlier claim that the suspect had been murdered in police custody and that the investigation was politically motivated to implicate him, Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed and a few others.
Saraki said the police needed to confirm why it took them so long to disclosure the death of the principal suspect .
