Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has urged Muslims in the
country to ensure that they put the good lessons of  Ramadan to use so
that  their obedience to the divine instruction to obey the Ramadan
could be rewarded by God.Governor Mimiko also calls for more
dedication to the Nigeria project  by all and sundry "so that the
labour of our heroes past and present shall not be in vain"

The Governor  made the call in his Id-el fitri message issued in the
State capital, Akure yesterday, urging the nation to take advantage of
the just concluded holy month of Ramadan to usher in a new era into
the country devoid of conflict, blood letting and every traces of
evil"

He said "The long period of self restraint and self purification was a
great spiritual exercise that should not be allowed to come and go in
vain.

"We must allow for the impact of the just concluded spiritual exercise
on our nation because we cannot afford to remain the same. The
spiritual exercise should usher in the rebirth of Nigerians for a more
peaceful and enviable Nigeria nation"

While congratulating the Muslims for "another successful fasting
period", Mimiko called on  Nigerians as a whole irrespective of their
religious leaning  to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, love and good
neighborliness amongst themselves as enshrined in the Holy books.
