A consultant oncologist and radiotherapist, Muha-mmad Habeebu said, Women who have never had children are at a higher risk of breast cancer.

Habeebu, who is the head, Department of Radiotherapy, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, spoke yesterday in Lagos during the conference and awards organised by the Health Writers Association of Nigeria.

He said: “When a woman has children and breastfeeds the children adequately, it makes her breast less likely to develop cancer but a woman who did not have children or never breastfeed is at higher risk of cancer.”
