The gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and ex-Governor of Oyo State, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, on Tuesday tasked members of the party to be up and doing for the next month’s general elections.
Alao-Akala made this call at the ADP general meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
In his address, the ADP flag bearer stressed the need for the good people of Oyo state to put all hands on deck to give Oyo state the best governor that will bring fruitful dividends of democracy to the state.
While pledging to fully accomplish his task, one of his cardinal agenda is to restore smiles back on the faces of the people of Oyo state. He said the state was in dire need of an experienced and tested politician like him.
In his words, “the leadership we want to introduce is to make people in the community smile; and God willing, we will take over leadership and everybody will be happy again.”
Optimistic of his victory, Alao-Akala stressed the need for an experienced and accomplished leader like him; while reminding the people of the state of his good works when he was at the helms of affairs in the state. He therefore promised that given another chance, he will place Oyo state in an exponential position of growth.
Using a Yoruba adage he said “We are the food the people of this town have tasted and they can testify how delicious we are. I’m sure you all know that a good cook will always improve in his cooking”.
He further added “the state needs an experienced and tested leader” like him to continue to take the state to the next level.
He urged his party members to be law abiding before, during and after campaign and elections, “We have started our work, do not fight with anyone, even when they constitute nuisance by removing our billboards, banners, etc, do not fight them”.
