Yet-to-be identified driver has died after his vehicle fell off an Interbua Flyover in Asaba, Delta State.

CEOAFRICA gathered that the incident occurred around 8.30pm on Thursday, while the deceased was driving a truck.

Three others occupying the vehicle reportedly sustained varying degrees of injury in the crash.

A witness told newsmen on condition of namelessness that there were four occupants in the vehicle, the driver include, when the accident occurred.

“The driver was travelling at high speed, and was making a phone call when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck fell off the flyover and he died on the spot, while the three others were seriously wounded,” the witness said.

He stated that sympathisers, who rushed to the scene of the accident, extricated the four occupants from the vehicle.

He added that the victims were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.

“The driver of the truck died at the hospital around 9.30pm,” the eyewitness added.

The accident was confirmed by  Director General of Delta State Traffic Management Agency, Mr. Stephen Dieseruvwe.

He said, “Before my men got to the scene of the accident this morning (Friday), the truck had been removed. We don’t know the number of casualties involved. We have taken the picture of the damaged flyover and we will get to the route of the incident.”
