It was all glam and fun as the Nigeria Defense Academy marked the 2019 Nigeria Defense Academy Social Activities (NDASA) in grand style.

The occasion featured various side attractions like music, dance, stunts, thug of war competition and numerous other fun activities.

The NDASA presents an opportunity for hitherto busy officers of the Academy to spend some quality fun time with family and friends.

Special guest of honour at the occasion, Air Vice Marshal AA Zannah (Rtd), commended the organisation and the delivery of this year’s NDASA.

He said, “I am very highly delighted to join you to celebrate the 2019 NDASA with members of the Academic community. All through my career in the military and even outside of the military as it is now, I have participated and witnessed many WASA activities, however I dare say that the NDA version of WASA stands out as one of the best I have been a part of either as an organiser or a spectator as evidenced this evening. The level of organisation that goes into it, the passion involved as well as the orderliness is exemplary. Above all the use of the forum by the Commandant to recognise hardwork is one feature that I find very commendable.”

He commended the NDA Commandant for his exemplary leadership as evidenced by the success of the NDASA and indeed numerous other activities around the Academy.

According to him, “The timeliness and precision with which activities are conducted reassures one that there is hope even for a society like ours that is literally been made dysfunctional by some elements in the society today.

“Apart from the fun we derive from the various varieties we have seen, coming to the Academy for such activities is heart-warming for the opportunity of interacting with friends, former colleagues, and our future Generals, Admirals and Marshals.

He called on the staff of the Academy not to relent in their efforts towards attainment of the Academy’s mission.

“I thank the Commandant more sincerely for the honour of welcoming me to this occasion as the guest of honour. I join the commandant in commending the staffs for your sacrifices and the families for their understanding, I urge you to continue to put your best for the attainment of the Academy’s mission.  This call has become necessary especially at this time when the nation’s security is been threatened by different kinds of challenges. As the primary institution that trains our military leaders, your contribution to national security needs no emphasis. Now more than ever before, the nation needs your dedication to produce the kind leadership our troops require to ensure victory,” he said.

He also commended the renovations in the Academy coupled with capacity building seminars, welfare and courses, noting that they will go a long way in boosting the morale around the Academy.

He also took out time to pay respect to the fallen heroes who gave their lives in the fight against all forms of security challenges.
