Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Thursday, urged people of the state not to be fooled  by what he called the hypocrisy of the All Progressives Congress.

He stated this at Idekpa, headquarters of Ohimini Local Government Area  of the state.

He said Nigerians must not continue with the impunity that APC brought to the country and should be ready to vote the party out of power by February 16.

Ortom said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government had failed because it was not ready to protect and defend Nigerians.

The governor said the primary responsibility of any government was to protect the lives and property of its citizens.

He said, “There is killing everywhere. Go to Zamfara, Plateau, Adamawa and other states, killings are going on. We can’t continue like this.

“People have come to deceive us in the past and we cannot be fooled  by those people and their APC because we now have good people, good leaders who can now offer us good advice.

“We will not continue with the impunity the ruling APC had brought to the country.”

The governor said the President lacked capacity to fight corruption and must be shown the way out.

“Benue people should vote Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates.

“Voting PDP means voting out poverty, killings and corruption because all these elements are thriving well under the Buhari-led government,” he added.
