With about six weeks to the governorship election in Osun State, an All Progressives Party member of the House of Representatives from Osun State, Mr. Rotimi Makinde, has raised the alarm that some people alleged to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the state were after his life.

Makinde who represents Ife federal constituency in the House of Representatives alleged at a press conference he addressed in Ile-Ife on Thursday that he had received several calls from anonymous persons threatening him to withdraw his support for the re-election of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

But the PDP said Makinde was only crying wolf, saying Makinde should identify those threatening him and report them to the police.

Diran Odeyemi, the media aid to the governorship candidate of PDP, Senator Iyiola Omisore, said nobody was after Makinde’s life, adding that “we don’t want anybody to blackmail Omisore, it is the APC that has been preaching violence in all its campaigns”
