From Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that government will erect the statue of the country’s first President Kenneth Kaunda at the KK International Airport.

While disclosing this to newsmen, Transport Minister Yamfwa Mukanga said the KK statue is part of earmarked facelift of the airport and it would cost K384 million.

He said people making use of the airport should be able to find it appealing and attractive unlike what is the current situation, “We want to provide a modern setup and modern equipment so that people exiting will find good facilities. That is why as a ministry, we will not compromise on the quality of material that will be used there. We would make sure every contractor uses the right material for the job. The use of sub standard should be condemned to the later,” he said.
