The Namdi Kanu’s led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)  has instructed its members in Abia state, to observe a mini sit-at-home on Tuesday as President Muhammadu Buhari‘s sets visit Aba, the commercial heart of the state.

CEOAfrica gathered that the agitating group issued this order in a statement on Monday evening by its spokesman, Emma Powerful.

President Buhari is said to visit Aba to commission the 9.5 Megawatts Independent Power Plant, at Ariaria Market in Osisioma Ngwa council area.

The President is also scheduled to attend the rally of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party at the Enyimba stadium.

In reaction to the President’s planned visit, a statement seen by our news source, IPOB asked its members to be at home from 6 am till 4 pm on Tuesday.

The decision of the group became imperative in order to ensure a total shun of Buhari’s campaign with the hope that Buhari would meet an empty stadium.

“All family members of IPOB within Aba metropolis are hereby instructed to observe a mini sit at home tomorrow (today) 29th January 2019 in total boycott of the impostor, Jubril AL-Sudani who is slated to be in Aba for an Islamic evil APC rally.

“We must ensure that Jubril meets an empty stadium today because his murderous presence is not welcome in our land. Do not go out for any reason, do not engage in any zoo political discussion as their Boko Haram and Janjaweed army are on standby to kill. Stay indoors from 6 am to 4 pm,” the statement read.

However, CEOAfrica learnt that security has been dispatched within the commercial city, mostly, along Brass junction leading to the Ariaria International market and Aba- Owerri road.

While reacting to the statement, Abia State Police command enjoined residents of the city to go about their normal duties without fear of harrasement.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Chris Ezike assured that the law-abiding citizen should have nothing to fear as Police have the capacity to apprehend any group or person found molesting residents.
