The Executive Head of CEOAfrica, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor has admonished Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of holocaust that occurred during the Second World War. January 27 every year has been marked as an international memorial for the victims of the genocide by the United Nations.

Prince Cletus was speaking on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance day in memory of millions of victims that were killed by the Nazi regime because of the ethnic and religious beliefs. He stressed on the need for a harmonious relationship between people of different ethnic and religious beliefs as foundation for a peaceful co-existence among people of different religions and ethnic groups.

He also called for the creation of educational programmes to enlighten the people in order to prevent future acts of genocide. According to him, the younger generations need to know the history, the lessons derivable from it to foster peaceful coexistence and prevent a repeat.

“If we can’t learn from history, then we cannot make progress and the only way to learn from history is when we have knowledge of history,” he stated.
