Elegbeleye charges Nigeria’s squad to beat France

The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, has charged the Super Eagles and its technical crew to ensure they beat France in Monday’s second round match of the ongoing 2014 World Cup holding in Estádio Nacional de Brasilia, Brazil in appreciation of President Goodluck Jonathan’s huge support to football and other sports in the country.

  The former legislator disclosed that: “as part of President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda, our dear Mr. President has contributed so much and still contributing to the development and promotion of sports in this country including football and the result has been evidently clear.

  “He has not for one day stopped supporting sports. That is why we have achieved all the positive results we have done so far. So I am using this medium to charge the Super Eagles team to go all out to beat France in tomorrow’s (Monday’s) World Cup second round battle and book a place in the quarter-finals of this competition.

  As regards the Nigerian team, the NSC boss assured that President Jonathan has approved all the funds needed by the team, which has since been released to the football body- The Nigeria Football Federation and he is confident that the Eagles has a conducive platform to shine in Brazil.

  He then showered encomiums on President Jonathan for ensuring that the Super Eagles get all they needed to make Nigeria proud at the 2014 World Cup.

  “We cannot stop appreciating the full support of our dear President for his support to Nigerian sports as well as the Super Eagles. I am confident that the team will beat France tomorrow (Monday) to say a big Thank you to Mr. President,” he assured.
