England - Arsenal will pay the entirety of Suarez’s wages for the duration of the loan and have negotiated a fee in the region of £20m should they wish to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Unai Emery, who reunited with a player who he worked with at Sevilla four seasons ago, said: “We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us.

“He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla.

“He brings us quality and options in many different attacking positions, so he’ll be able to help the team.”
