Dr. Habiss Ugbada, Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, has appealed to distressed members of the ruling All Progressives Congress not to dump the party (APC).

Ugbada stressed the importance for all party members to be united ahead of the forthcoming general elections so that the ruling party could emerge victorious at all levels.

He made the plea during an event organised to campaign for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in Kuje, Abuja, on Monday.

The envoy tasked the aggrieved members to embrace the internal mechanisms put in place by the party to address their grievances, rather than leaving the party.

He said, “I appeal to all and sundry that are aggrieved in one way or the other not to leave our great party, APC.

“The party has in place strong mechanisms to address and resolve differences. We must come together as one indivisible big family to actualise our collective goals as a people.

“Elections will come and go, but we remain brothers and sisters. Let us put all parochial interests behind and chart a common cause for all-round progress.”

Ugbada said there is a  need for them to support Buhari in order to win the February 16 presidential election.

He claimed that before the President came on board in 2015, the country was witnessing breakdown of law and order and economic doom, among others.

“Our country was heading towards perdition, if not for the choice Nigerians made in 2015 by voting for President Buhari,” he further claimed.

He listed the areas which he claimed the present administration had done well so far to include agriculture, anti-corruption fight, security and infrastructure, among others.
