Egypt's Sisi receives baton as AU chairman

The African Union (AU) Sunday got a new chairman.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has taken up chairmanship of the 55-member African Union.

Sisi promises to focus on security issues on the African continent

The new African Union chairman says that counter- terrorism requires the identification of those who support and finance it and combating them collectively.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame, who led an active, reformist tenure as African Union chair, yesterday passes the baton to Egypt.
