The National Energy Fund (FUNAE) in Mozambique has put every mercenary in place to begin the operation of the first solar panels factory in Maputo, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

The company which will begin operation in October is to expand the use of renewable energies in rural areas.

Speaking after his visit to the factory, the Minister of Energy, Salvador Namburete said the production of solar panels was an added value to the country, particularly at a time when the government is trying to place sources of energy closure to the public.

“It’s one of the solutions, particularly for the countryside which is not yet benefitting from the expansion of the national electricity grid. This factory will have a major impact,” he said.

The factory, in the construction phase, will employ 80 workers, of whom 70 are Mozambican
