The much awaited fourth matriculation ceremony of Chrisland University started on Monday with an excursion to significant historical places in the ancient city of Abeokuta, Ogun sate capital.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola had earlier stated the lined-up activities for the week in an interaction with CEOAfrica.

center of excellence like ours. The ceremony will take off on Monday, 4th March, with excursion to

not only the significant and historical places in the ancient city of Abeokuta and its environs, but the

entire city to familiarise the new intakes with their new environment. We have organised it to be

very exciting".

The activities indeed were a memorable one for the entire school especially the freshers as they tour the other side of education outside the class room activities.

As part of the ceremony for this great citadel of learning, the V.C, Staff and students of Chrisland University embarked on educational tourism of different fields of life.

This great move shows that Chrisland University is keen on one of its mission which is ‘to create a learning environment that nurtures a sound moral and intellectual culture that attracts an excellent blend of faculty from across the world, and deploys resources to educate the total person’.

Some of the great places visited include, the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, founded by former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

The students also visited the OOPL Wide Life Park, where they were opportune to feed their eyes with different kinds of animals and the atmosphere of a wild life park.

The Continental Suites Cinema was not left out, as Chrisland University seized the opportunity to inculcate in the mind of the students that education indeed is an all-round study of life, not only pen, papers and classroom.

The activities also accommodated a visit to Ancient Olumo rock in Abeokuta, a visit to this place indeed projected Chrisland University as the lover of history also a prove to their students that it is a great stepping stone for them as they made the unbeatable citadel of learning their choice.

The Monday activities are a bit of the ice berg as the ceremony runs through to Thursday which will be the grand matriculation ceremony.

Prof. Babalola stated; “The matriculation lectures will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, 5th and 6th March respectively. Here we are going to orientate the new intakes about our programmes, activities

and the excellent culture of the university which they are expected to imbibe. Then comes the

grand finale (the matriculation) which is scheduled for the 7th of March, 2019 at the school auditorium.” She added.

It is of no doubt that the Prof. Babalola nurtured school has projected its worth of keeping its second mission statement which is, ‘to attract talented youths, to teach and inspire them to advance the realm of knowledge by cultivating their faculty of academic enquiry, creative scholarships, research discovery and the application of new knowledge to the transformation of the individual and society’.
