Following the unconfirmed reports of cases of ballot box snatching in the ongoing 2019 Governorship and House of Assembly elections, the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, CP Shina Olukolu  has said that there is no such  issues like that.

The CP stated that people give report of incidents, even when nothing has happened.

CP Shina said, “what happened is, when you have a minor issue and people did not know exactly what is going on, there is an alarm from more than 5 persons calling on the same issue. By the time you tell them that the issue has been resolved, another person will call who had earlier heard what was going on and then they will call again, and you will keep reassuring them that as long they are giving us genuine and useful information, we continue to react to minor issues, isolated issues that may arise and find immediate solutions to such problems.

 We promise members of the public that if there is any issue at all, we have security men on patrol who are nearby and they will be called to quickly respond to such problem”.

The CP therefore  re-assures the residents of Oyo state that the ongoing election at the various polling units’ across the State will be peaceful, free and fair because Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command is on ground to ensure successful election.
