Oyo state governor elect, Engr Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) has poured out his heart of gratitude to the people of the state for entrusting him with their mandates.
In his thanks giving address at his residence, in Ibadan the state capital, the governor elect lauded the efforts of the people for standing against what they perceived to be mismanagement of their common wealth; thus, used their electoral power to give him the opportunity to serve them.
According to him “in your valour, you stood against what you perceived to be mismanagement of your common patrimony brought about collusion with forces to fleece our treasury, among other obvious misdemeanours.”
Makinde also commended the people’s efforts in electing majority of PDP legislators, hence making it easier for his elected office to achieving his laid down manifestoes.
He said, “You made it easier for us by voting in majority of our legislators which means that we can push through, withoutmuch ado, all of our people-oriented policies particularly in critical sectors of education, health and job creation.
He however, hailed the big gladiators who gave him the foot to stand tall, while showing his gratitude to High Chief Ladoja, Sen. Lanlehin of Africa Democratic Congress, Barrister Sarafadeen Alli of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Chief Ayorinde of Social Democratic Party(SDP), Sen. Monsura Summonu and others for relegating their own ambition.
CEOAfrica recall that the ADC, SDP, ZLP and others, few days to Sturday’s polls emerged and endorsed Makinde as their consensus candidate.
Our correspondence also gathered that a minutes silence was observed for the death of Hon. Temitope Olatoya Sugar and others who lost their lives in the course of the elections.
