Chrisland University was the cynosure of scholars as they gathered to mark the fourth matriculation ceremony of the leading private university in Nigeria. The ceremony which took place at Chrisland University in Abeokuta, Ogun state attracted people from all works of live who made the event colourful, filled with pomp and charms to the excitement and attraction of all.

The celebrants – matriculating students were beautifully adorned with the matriculating gown as their joy knows no bound to be matriculated into the prestigious university for academic and scholarly pursuits. It was a defining moment in their lives to step up to deciding their future on the pathway of rigorous academic work which is the hallmark of the university.

The high point of the occasion was the oath taking, when the matriculating students vowed to be of good conduct and to strictly abide to the rules and regulations that govern the university. The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Peace Chinedum ceremoniously admits them as bona fide students of Chrisland University.

The Vice Chancellor of the University urged the students on hard work which she described as the bases for good academic success. She challenged them not only to excel, but to exceed the norm which is the hallmark of exceptional people in our brave new world. While thanking their parents for allowing their wards to make Chrisland University their choice, she reminded them of their role as stakeholders in the school which must be brought to bear as partner in progress in the education and development of the students.

Also at the event was Mr. Oluseye Alabi, Managig Director of FORTE Upstream Services Ltd. While addressing the matriculating students as the guest speaker of the colourful event, he persuaded them to eschew all forms of evil vices which presently permeate our country’s narrative, and strive to give the expectation that is expected of their generation. He further urged them to be the change agent the country is waiting for; to change the negative narratives that challenge our claim to modern civilisation.

The founder and chancellor of the Chrisland University, High Chief (Mrs) Winfred Awosika  could not hide her feelings as she expressed her joy for the landmark achievements the university has recorded within a short time frame.

While thanking the management of the university and all other stakeholders for the good work, she assured that the university is on steady growth to greatness. She unveiled quantum plan on the pipeline to open a college of medicine and consequently relocate the university to its permanent site.

She specifically thanked and honoured the Royal Father of the day, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (Okukenu IV) who was present at the occasion. She described him as a father to all who she is always comfortable and happy to be with.
