Mother Day, or Mothering Sunday, is not just an ordinary day,  it is a Sunday specially set aside to honour mothers and other mother figures, such as grandmothers, stepmothers and mothers-in-law among the Christian faithful. Many people make a special effort to visit their mothers to treat them in a special way to show how wonderful and great mothers really are.

Yesterday, like in other Christian gathering, St. Stephen';;s Church Inalende in Ibadan was not an exception as the Church celebrated the mothers and all the mother figures in grand style.

It was indeed a moment to celebrate and honour mothers as Venerable Collins Babalola extolled the endless virtues that mothers are filled with. Virtues which according him are priceless and for the growth and good of the family.

The celebration which was very colourful was marked with special recognition of five outstanding mothers (Mamas Ayeni, Dosunmu, Oke, Falade and Olutayo) and other Women organizations (Mothers; union and Women’s Guild) by the Vicar Venerable Collins Babalola.

To further add colours to the event, mothers were treated to sweet songs and music melody which extolled what they truly are – a special gift to mankind. There was also drama rendition from the youths, and of course, dance and jubilation for everybody.

The Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Professor Mrs C.P Babalola was one of the celebrants. She led other women in the congregations after the church event to visit welfare home –The Christian Home of Deaf at Onireke, Ibadan, to show their unique motherly love, offering them with special gifts and prayers.
