Rivers state incumbent governor also the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Nyesom Wike, has won 15 out of the 17 Local Government Areas announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

 Wike as at yesterday was leading in 13 LGAs as INEC called out results from 15 council areas when collation was suspended.

When the electoral body commenced collation and announcement of election results Wednesday, Wike added two more LGAs where he won with a wide margin.

The contest is majorly between Biokpomabo Awara of the AAC and Governor Nyesom Wike.

The two Local Government Areas announced today are Obio/Akpor and Asari Toru.

INEC will, however, hold supplementary election in six other  LGAs.
