Much has been said as regards Late Honourable Temitope Olatoye Sugar being an avalanche of benevolence, politician of repute, humanitarian enigma, freedom fighter, goal getter and peace maker. The honourables’ from different divergences also gave inferences to this from various retrospect.

As part of the befitting burial of the deceased, there was an honorary lying-in-state held at the Oyo State House of Assembly on 2nd of May, 2019, after the corpse was moved from UCH earlier in the day.

His Fellow honourables, colleagues, friends, and members of the family were present as Honourable Olusegun Olaleye, politically known as Radical,  in his tribute with the heading “six gone in the span of six years” affirmed that Honourable Temitope Sugar will be the sixth as regards honourables that have died in the span of six years, with Adeyemo, Waliu, Baba Eleja, Gideon, Segelu added.

He also added that the deceased appeared to him in the dream, and sought for the welfare of the people.

Olaleye pointed out that, while Hon. Temitope Sugar was alive; he had much attention on the masses than the family, hence Olaleye promised that two of Sugar’s children will be given scholarships up to the university level, in courtesy of his own family.

Similarly to this, were the words of Honourable Joshua Oyebamiji, who initially gave insights of how the, late honourable was so respectful and tolerant. He gave references of times when the deceased’s toes were stepped, but he would maintain solace instead of reacting badly.

In his words “He appeared to me and told me I should know there’s need for me to cook towards his burial, for it to be shared to the people, and leave a smile on their faces. I was trying to tell him that  I’m older than him, I shouldn’t even be here today because no one prays to bury his own child.”

Honourable Olagunju Ojo, the Speaker of the Oyo House of Assembly  testified that; “He was the only Honourable from Oyo State that welcomed us wholeheartedly when the House went to Abuja.”

While fielding questions from CEOAfrica, Honourable Olusegun Olaleye affirmed that Sugar doesn’t want vengeance on his behalf, but believe vengeance is for God.

He however reiterated how Sugar started this political struggle back then in school at Osiele, while they were fighting Anti-Cultism, and how it led to life threatening on his part, which later made Sugar not to contest for the union president then.

“Only those whose ways have no iota of blemish should be the one to cast stone. Nobody’s judgement is in the hand of any man. So who are they to judge Sugar?”

Honourable Babatunde Tijani was also of the opinion that Honourable Temitope Sugar had nothing at such of prejudice based on ethnicity, religiosity or what so ever, rather he was on the move to setting a balance between the rich and the poor.
