Police have cordoned off the parking lot near the Virgin Active gym after a man was gunned down on June 6 2019.

The man, identified as Kalvin Periasamy, who owns tow truck and taxi from Phoenix, north of Durban, was gunned down at Gateway Theatre of Shopping on Thursday morning.

The 29-year-old man allegedly of the Bloods gang, was leaving the mall's gym when he was shot dead in the parking lot.

The victim was recently released from prison, where he was awaiting trial on drug-related prosecutions.
