Kano State Police have apprehended nothing less than 10 suspected culprits, known as ‘Yan Daba’, after a bloody combat during the Sallah Durbar in the metropolis.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the traditional durbar of ‘Hawan Daushe’ was held at the palace of Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, as part of the Eid-al-Fitr celebrations.
The Kano State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the apprehension in a statement on Thursday.
He said that the incident broke out on Wednesday after the Hawan Daushe celebration, when the hoodlums started trouble resulting in the fatal clash.
“As a result, one person died while two others sustained injuries,’’ he added.
Haruna thereby affirmed that probe had begun into the cause of the combat.
The spokesperson said that the suspects, who were apprehended with various dangerous weapons, would be charged to court after probe.
