AFCON 2019: Egyptian match officials make CAF's list of 26 Referees

The duo of Ibrahim Nour El Din and Amin Mohamed Omar as Egyptian match officials was selected among the 26 referees in the 2019 African Cup of Nations which will be held in Egypt.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a final list of 26 referees for the African Cup of Nations later this month in Egypt.

Ibrahim Nour El Din, previously refereed an international friendly between Tunisia and Morocco, has replaced Egyptian referee Gehad Grisha in the preliminary list after Grisha was shelved by CAF for six months.

In addition, there was an inclusion of another Egyptian referee Amin Mohamed Omar who featured in the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications, in which Egypt did not participate.

The list included the following referees:

As for the assistant referees, the Egyptians include Mahmoud Abou El-Regal, Tahsin Abou El-Sadat, and Ahmed Hossam Taha.

AFCON 2019 will kick off on June 21 with Egypt-Zimbabwe as the tournament’s opening game.
