Driver dead, Murang'a County official wounded in Maragua-Kenol auto crash

One person was reportedly dead in an auto crash involving the vehicle of a Murang’a County official.

The passenger who passed away on the Maragua-Kenol road was identified as a relative to Water and Cooperatives CEC Paul Macharia.

Mr Macharia suffered a fractured leg and was taken to Murang’a referral hospital, where he was admitted for specialized treatment.

Governor Mwangi wa Iria went to the auto crash scene and later visited his CEC at the hospital, and wished him quick recovery.

Maragua traffic officers inspected the scene and towed the wreckage of the vehicle to Maragua police station.

Murang’a County Police Commander Josphat Kinyua said the driver of the vehicle lost control and veered off the road.

Locals proximal to Kwa Wamaria area where the auto crash broke out asked the Government to erect bumps to help curb accidents on the section.
