IGP Mohammed Adamu, AIG support CP Shina as LAUTECH student, 15 others arrested for alleged robbery, cultism

As the Nigerian Police Force declare total war against  crime in Oyo state, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu through the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG ‘Zone 11’ Oshogbo, AIG Adeleye Oyebade  has deployed some police officers to Ibarapa and Ogbomosho axis for total war against crime.

The state Commissioner of Police, C.P Shina Olukolu disclosed this during a press briefing on Thursday 13th, June, 2019 at the Police headquarters Eleyele, Ibadan.

The C.P also affirmed that the command under his watch and supervision have tactfully apprehended sixteen (16)  suspected criminals  including an accounting student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho over alleged armed robbery, cultism and conspiracy.

Barely two weeks after parading some groups of hoodlums, C.P Olukolu today paraded another set of hoodlums whose criminal cases ranges from, arm robbery, conspiracy and stealing and different ammunitions were recovered from them.

The C.P while parading the alleged criminals said “the officers and men under his  watch and supervision have not been resting on their oars.

“We have continued to map out new strategies and ways to combat and reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum through mass deployment of our patrol vehicles including that of Operation Puff Adder, SARS, Swift Response Squad, (SRS), SKYNETS Squad, Federal and Safer Highway patrol teams to strategic points within the state.”

According to the C.P, a case of conspiracy and robbery was reported on 6th May, 2019 that a lady was sent by her boss to go to the bank and deposit the sum of one million, four hundred thousand naira, (N1,400,000), on her way  along the road to Dugbe, she was allegedly hypnotized by one Taiwo Sami and she lost her senses and thereafter taken to Inalende Area of Ibadan where the whole cash was collected from her and the suspects inflicted several injuries all over the victim’s body and locked her up.

The C.P said the command got the information about her whereabout and swift into action to rescue her, on a tip off, the kingpin, Taiwo and his accomplice, Kamorudeen Amusat were arrested around Eleyele area, Ibadan.

The suspects while fielding questions from CEOAfrica confessed to the crime and claimed they were given the sum of N 200,000 each.

However, the command recovered from them one Toyota Camry with Reg. number OYO BDJ 53KU and some quantity of slippers.

In another development, a case of robbery and stealing was recorded, as the suspect confessed to be involved in diverting his victims to unknown area and dispose them of their valuable items.

The C.P on that same note warned those planning to cease the ongoing Egungun masquerade festival, to cause havoc, to delete such thought from their head as the police has the capacity and capability to deal with any situation that will disturb the peace and business of other citizens, while promising the good people of Oyo State that the police will continue to ensure safety of lives and property.

The C.P, however lauded the people of Oyo state for making the state police work easier for active participation in community policing.
