Breaking Bounds: Chrisland University VC, Prof Babalola trains Student Union Excos on leadership

The Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof Chinedum Peace Babalola on June 12th, 2019, celebrated the Democracy Day in Nigeria in grand style, as she engaged an international consultant on leadership to train the maiden/newly elected Student Representative Council (SRC) Members for the school.

The two-day Leadership retreat which held at Richton Hotel, Abeokuta was well attended under the renowned international leadership coach, Engineer Biodun Fijabi of LordsPrincely. The retreat was aimed at equipping the students with the leadership skills that our country is in dare need of. It was indeed noval, transformational, unique and highly impactful for positive action. The experience so far is better imagined.

In line with this development, the lecturers of this prestigious university have began a two-day workshop on pedagogical skills that will enhance modern learning and assessment methods. This is led by the global expert in this field, Prof K. Babarinde. He is the immediate past/ pioneer Director of Centre for Teaching and Learning, University of Ibadan.

The Vice Chancellor in an interview with CEOAFRICA, said “It was a day when two of my core goals were practically fulfilled - which are to promote leadership among students and to enhance teaching and learning skills among staff. Again, it has been an eye opener, transformational, wonderful and fulfilling experience.

"In it, all our staff and students are being equipped for a better Nigeria in Chrisland University, the home of intellectual radiance. I give all the glory to God and I express deep appreciation to all my staff, student and all who made these happen." she concludes.

The erudite scholar while priding the university as a centre for raising future leaders, used the opportunity to call on prospective students to take advantage of the learning- friendly environment to enroll in Chrisland University to be part of tomorrow's global leaders.

The students in a chat with CEOAfrica expressed their happiness, showing gratitude to God almighty and equally thanking their VC for always giving them the best. The students names are: Isitua Ifeanyi (President), Ene Adaga (Vice President), Martha Kave (Assistant VP/ Female Governor Hall), Muhammed Mustapha Idris (Secretary), Odusunya Olayide (Social Director), Odunsi Mayowa (Sport Director), Kikikelomo Folashade (Assistant Publicity Secretary),Tope Alabi (Male Hall Governor).
