An Abuja federal high court has dismissed a suit filed by the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore challenging the open grazing prohibition and establishment law passed by the Benue state house of assembly.

The Fulani group had filed the case challenging the open grazing prohibition and establishment law passed by the Benue state House of Assembly.

Justice Okon Abang on Thursday also awarded N100,000 damages against the herdsmen.

The fine, according to the presiding judge, will be paid to all the 14 defendants named in the suit.

According to the judge, in his ruling, the plaintiff failed to comply with an order issued by the court in 2017 which directed the association to amend the originating summons.
